According to cybersecurity experts there could be a malware attack that steals the information of Litecoin and bitcoin wallet.
Malware named InnfiRAT, which is a trojan and could be accessed remotely has the potential to steal the sensitive information stored on the device including all the bitcoin and data of crypto wallet. The researchers at Zscaler’sThreatLabZ pointed Bitcoin and Litecoin as most vulnerable and high risk and others at medium risk.
The trojan searches for wallet.dat files and in case the file is detected in the system then it sends all the information on the criminal’s server. These trojan files can come through an infected attachment through email or any application. So people should use only trusted sources to download the files.
The cryptocurrency will have to find a way to protect its users to prevent cyber criminals from hacking their wallets and accounts.
